To further assist clients, Waters Corporation announced its plans earlier this year to integrate its NuGenesis Scientifi c Data Management System with the Software Electronic Lab Notebook product by Santa Clara, Californiabased Symyx. By integrating the software platforms, scientists will be better able to access, share, use, and document scientifi c information generated by multiple sources. “To keep up with the mountains of data generated by drug discovery research, leading research fi rms need solid information management solutions like Symyx Software and Waters NuGenesis SDMS,” said Patrick Martell, director of Waters Laboratory Informatics. “The regulatory and competitive environments in which modern pharmaceutical and chemical products are developed demand the highest standards of IP traceability, compliance, and effi ciency. This new integration of our products helps our customers keep pace with these demands.” Excellence in customer service is tantamount to business success for Waters Corporation, and it shows. For the fi fth consecutive year, Waters Corporation was awarded the Omega Northface Scoreboard Award for exceeding customer expectations in service and satisfaction. “[This] distinction underscores the important role that the company’s Global Services organization plays in building customer loyalty,” said Dr. Rohit Khanna, vice president of worldwide marketing at Waters. “We are pleased that our own customers are experiencing great success with the exemplary customer services programs delivered by this organization.” The award is administered by the Omega Management Group, a leader in implementing customer satisfaction and retention programs. Omega surveyed 3,100 customers in 20 countries, and according to its research, Waters Corporation received a score of 4.0 or higher (out of 5.0) in technical support, fi eld service, sales Waters Corporation process, customer service, and product quality. Community involvement is another high priority for Waters Corporation. In 2006, it received the American Red Cross Circle of Humanitarians Award for its support to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which handled the relief of hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma during 2005. Waters Corporation donated $100,000 to the fund while matching, dollar for dollar, the $19,000 donated by its employees; its total contribution was $138,000. “This was an unprecedented disaster, and no one knew how the challenges were going to be met,” said Lynette Sappe-Watkins of the American Red Cross at the acceptance ceremony. “However, as the victims of hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma emerged, so did the heroes. Through their generosity, the Red Cross was able to provide the relief and hope to those who have lost so much.” As Waters Corporation has diversifi ed in recent years, it realized it needed a brand overhaul to aptly refl ect the scope of its abilities in providing business solutions for companies, academic institutions, and scientifi c organizations worldwide. The unveiling of the new brand strategy took place at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, which served to introduce the new initiative to the more than 1,000 Waters employees who were in attendance, and the rest of the Corporation via live Internet broadcast. “Over the last decade, we have become more than just a provider of laboratory products and services,” said Art Caputo, president of the Waters Division of Waters Corporation. “We have become an essential business partner to a growing range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, food service, and industrial companies.
