F or more than 20 years, Eschmann Textures has offered its customers creative solutions for surface texturing requirements. Eschmann offers a direct interface between all the relevant corporate disciplines involved in the design cycle through to production. The design and prototyping capability focuses on the revolutionary patented Flotek process to create textures, grain patterns and tailor- made surface decorations for a global client base. The process offers a fully integrated service for concept development, design validation, prototyping, short series production and tooling master samples. In- house facilities include the latest prototyping systems for the production of textured and untextured polyurethane components and one of Europe's largest 5- axis gantry lasers. Through the Flotek application process that enables a textured surface to be applied to 3D models such as SLAs, Eschmann has been an integral part of several concept vehicles. One of the most recent was the Ford Iosis. The project involved the generation of a unique non repeating texture that enhanced the geometry of the instruments panel, A new design application enables textured surfaces to be accurately modelled in 3D Go with the Flo By Matthew Wadsworth, Eschmann Textures
Eschmann's " fit to form" Also the generation of one off transparent poly urethane floor panels with an encapsulated texture where commissioned. To complete the set the Eschmann bespoke emboss plate process was adopted by Ford, so seat panels had a texture that related to the other properties in the vehicle. The " fit to form" process is a development in the world of texture. " Through the Flotek application process, Eschmann has been an integral part of several concept vehicles" Historically textures have a small repeat; however Eschmann offer the possibility of texture that works with the geometry of a component that are non repeating, enabling creative freedom to designers. The application onto tooling is where Eschmann's expertise comes to the fore. Eschmann Textures is a global organisation that is able to support global production programmes through the Texture Technologies International group, delivering a project management system that allows the entire group to supply process excellence throughout the automotive industry. Ultimately, Eschmann Textures acts as a link between the OEM, Tier 1 supplier and subcontractors; the joint aim is the implementation of a harmonious and unique interior, offering best perceived quality.
