Jamaica Broilers Group JANUARY 10 www. bus- ex. com 53 Today, the business has a fully integrated poultry operation and has diversified into feed milling, cattle rearing, beef production and fish farming, along with the development and marketing of other value- added products for both local consumption and export. " Our processing plant is the biggest in the Caribbean," Levy comments, " and we now work with around 60 contract farmers and produce roughly 800,000 kilos [ nearly 1.8 million pounds] of processed poultry every week. Our feed mill produces 250,000 metric tons of feed a year and is located on a 10- acre site, though we need more room, while our hatchery division does around a million chicks every week." The group boasts an impressive list of customers including KFC, Burger King and Wendy's, achieved in no small part by attention to detail and technology. " Our processing plant is situated on 50 acres of land and has embraced automation in a big way to help us improve efficiency," The SGS offices in Jamaica have been associated with JB Ethanol since the inception of the plant in 2007. SGS calibrated all product storage tanks, worked with JB on receiving their first vessel, provide collateral management services for their major client and are currently providing loading / discharge supervision services for their major trading partners in Jamaica and the USA. SGS is proud to be associated with JB Ethanol and honoured to be recognised as a significant contributor to their success. We congratulate Mr. Levy and the team on their sterling success in bringing this dream to reality. SGS |
